As we head into October, this is the month where the National Hunt season really gets underway. However, we are still in desperate need of some rain. The fact that there will be no chase races at the season opener at Chepstow highlights this more than anything!
With that said, it’s still a very exciting month. Racing at Cheltenham returns on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th October for their Showcase Meeting which is always a great couple of days.
We have added seven winners to our tally, taking us up to 24 for the season. We have over £200,000 in prize money and currently sit in 4th place in the Trainers’ Championship.
In among the seven winners was a treble at Uttoxeter. Trebles are always very nice, but this one was extra special as it was AJ’s first treble as a trainer.
Off the track, AJ and sister Louise are in full practice for their routine at the brilliant Racing Welfare “Racing Come Dancing” charity event that takes place in November. You can watch some of their training below. We can’t wait to see the final performance!
Take care and with our best wishes,

Jonjo and AJ
Our Uttoxeter treble stars. L-R: Mt Fugi Park and Ben, Gaelic Rambler and AJ, Nightflyer and JonjWe enjoyed a wonderful morning with owners involved in partnerships here at Jackdaws Castle last weekend.
Our guests enjoyed a champagne breakfast, before heading out in the jeeps to watch the horses on the gallops and photo opportunities with their horses.
One of the partnerships we have here at O’Neill Racing is the Jonjo & AJ O’Neill Racing Club II with Royal Rhythm who has won on two of his last three starts!
This racing club is a fantastic way to start your racehorse ownership journey. The horses in the club all wear the famous Sea Pigeon silks too!
We have a couple of spaces available and if you would like any further information of how to get involved, please email pa@oneill.racing.
A couple of weeks ago, we hosted a fantastic event in collaboration with three of our favourite brands; Dick Lovett BMW, Richard George Tailoring and The Partnership Collection.
Each of them invited some guests to experience a morning here at Jackdaws Castle, watching the horses on the gallops and exploring the estate in the luxury of the BMWs.

We are very lucky to share some incredibly special moments with lots of wonderful people and horses.
On Friday, we welcomed Jacky Pullin to Jackdaws Castle to meet her surprise 60th birthday present that her husband John and daughter Tippy had chosen for her. They had visited us a month or so ago and had somehow managed to keep it a secret!
It really was the most joyous morning and we feel truly blessed to have been part of it.
Happy birthday, Jacky!
As we mentioned last month, AJ and his sister Louise are taking part in Racing Come Dancing for the exceptional Racing Welfare charity.
Taking place on 8th November, 12 couples will take to the dancefloor in a show-stopping competition, all in support of Racing Welfare, raising funds for those who work tirelessly behind the scenes of the racing industry.
AJ and Louise have been training hard and we thought we would share the video of how practice is going!
The donation page is now live if you would like to support this wonderful event. They would be incredibly grateful!

Congratulations to Hayley Meeking for winning our Employee Of The Month for September
Hayley consistently goes above and beyond and is an incredibly supportive Assistant Trainer to both Jonjo and AJ.
She wins dinner, bed & breakfast overnight stay at any Accor Hotel of her choice within the UK.
A huge thank you to Chris Ford and Accor for their generous sponsorship of our Employee of the Month which rewards team members with a wonderful experience.

Jonjo Jr. competed in a different kind of race last week when he completed the Cheltenham Half Marathon.
The course goes through and around Cheltenham town centre and concludes with an epic grandstand finish at Cheltenham Racecourse.
Jonj completed the 21.1km in a time of 1hr, 27 minutes and 18 seconds. Thanks to his late granny for the ice machine!

Our VIP Stable Tours are incredibly popular and would make the most wonderful gift for a horse racing enthusiast.
It’s a wonderful opportunity for fans of our great sport to go behind the scenes at one of the most famous training establishments in the UK.
Your day will start at the stunning Lygon Arms in Broadway at 7:15 am, before heading to Jackdaws Castle to watch the horses on the gallops and in the swimming pool, and soaking up the breathtaking scenery of this magical location.
Depending on the day of your visit, you may have the chance to see our top jockeys schooling the horses or observe our resident farriers at work as they prepare the horses.
Your tour culminates with a visit to our Owners’ Suite where you may have the opportunity to meet Jonjo and AJ for a photo opportunity and a chat.
